The Minnesota Hosta Society “DEAN Award” is based on the following criteria:
• Dedicated – Member of the MHS for > 10 yrs.
• Enthusiasm – Promotes the MHS thru their word and actions.
• Active – Has lead one or more key member ship activities and/or routinely assists / volunteers when needed.
• Noteworthy – contribution(s) recognizable and/or remarkable.
2023: The DEAN Award for 2023 is awarded to Marv Ten Clay for his long-time service as Hosta Sale chair and allowing the Society use of his garden and residence for growing hostas and potting parties.

2022: The first DEAN Award is awarded to Don Dean. A founding member of the society and first President of the Minnesota Hosta Society. Don is the inspiration for this award and future recipients.
