2024: The Don Dean Service Award for 2024 is awarded to Rod Hillstrom. Rod has served the society in many capacities, including Hosta Sale coordinator, Vice President and President (while the Covid-19 pandemic occurred). He routinely volunteers his time at many events.

2023: The Don Dean Service Award for 2023 is awarded to Marv Ten Clay for his long-time service as Hosta Sale chair and allowing the Society use of his garden and residence for growing hostas and potting parties.

2022: The first Don Dean Service Award is awarded to Don Dean. A founding member of the society and first President of the Minnesota Hosta Society. Don is the inspiration for this award and future recipients.
